Introduction:

Hi, my name is Michael Hawker and I'm the Technical Director of Medic Technology International Pty Ltd based in Perth Western Australia.

In 2005 I was introduced to a new and very exciting product called the e-cell. As an electronics engineer I must admit to at first being sceptical about the claims made by the manufacturers. I subsequently undertook a course in biomedical science which enabled me to understand more fully the operation of this medical device (ARTG Listed) which I have now been involved with since that time.

Between 2006 and 2010, nearly 6,000 e-cells have been sold in Australia and many more around the World, with a success rate that proves the effectivness of the product.

We understand and accept that quite rightly some health professionals have reservations. Where we've been able to explain in medical terms how the e-cell works, GPs, specialists and allied health professionals have come to understand that the e-cell is designed on recognised scientific biomedical principals.

Research currently on-going at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and in Paris is in relation to the healing of abnormal connections in the brain. A $300,000 ARRC linkage grant has been made available for further research, the results of which will be published in early 2011.

The research and double-blind trials about to begin at Edith Cowen University (ECU) are in relation to the healing of musculoskeletal strains and sprains which is our core business.
